There will be a hearing on March 2: an application for the Bankruptcy Order to be suspended pending the hearing of the appeal in about three months.
In a letter to Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong, Canadian MP Svend Robinson (International Human Rights Spokesperson, New Democratic Party) expresses his dismay concerning Mr Jeyaretnam, saying that he "shares the concerns of Amnesty International and others that the Singapore government may be using the courts to bring politically-motivated charges in an effort to stifle criticism and discredit this veteran human rights campaigner."
