BATAM: INT PEOPLES FORUM UPDATE

With Asian movements taking the lead, an international group of networks, movements, campaigns and NGOs is convening an International Peoples Forum on the IMF-World Bank (IPF) from September 15-17 in Batam, Indonesia. The Forum will be a major venue for civil society activities during the meetings.

The Indonesian Police have approved the Batam International Peoples Forum [IPF] from Sept 15-17. NGOs say World Bank-IMF meet in Indonesia to go ahead on 9 Sept 2006.
