To
mark the occasion, movers of the Free Speech Venue
idea, the Roundtable(a political discussion group)
will be organizing a SpeakersFest.
Scheduled
from 6pm-7pm for the 1 September 2000, members
of the group, lead by its President, Dr. Kevin
Tan, will be present to make speeches. Various
representatives from the civil society network
have also been contacted to speak on topics of
their choice at that event.
6pm
was the organizer’s preferred time as it
would be cooler and allow more people to come
after work from near-by areas.
Among
those expected to be present are a group of young
people who will be advertising their new political
magazine – SHAME. Expect flyers to distributed
and banners flown!!
All
are invited to join in the festivities. Members
of the public are encouraged to arrive by 5.30pm
on that day. If you think it might rain, bring
an umbrella!
