Save JBJ Political Rally
01 April 2001

When SM Lee Kuan Yew was asked recently whether he would step down soon, he pointedly asked the reporter in return, "What would I do?" The same can be said of JBJ. What will he do if he is made a bankrupt and be completely out of the fray of the next elections. Like how SM Lee is an icon of Singapore politics, so is JBJ. Of course, for the establishment, he is the anti-hero and hence needs to be challenged.

(Think Centre)

Inside the Hawkers' Department
Inside the Hawkers' Department
When contacted on 23/4/2001, Ms Samsiah from the Hawkers' Department at the Environment Ministry told us that the application was still in process and that the AGC would be drafting the reply soon. When asked to clarify that AGC meant the Attorney-General's Chambers she said yes. Asked how soon that would be, she replied that once the AG's Chambers is done they would email the reply to the Department and from there it would be faxed to Think Centre.

When contacted again today morning (24/4/2001), Ms Samsiah has confirmed that the reply from the AGC has been forwarded to her department. She went on to add that it is now in the hands of her Officer and that he would be preparing to send it over to Think Centre.

The Centre will respond once the reply has come in. So stay tuned for this last battle in the war to stage the "Save JBJ" rally!
